O most merciful Father, Eternal God: we ask You to be attentive to
the voice of our supplication which we, Your humble and lowly
servants, offer today in behalf of all of our mothers. Give Your
guidance and wisdom to our youthful mothers; reassure and inspire
those of our mothers who are in the prime of life, endowing them with
that spiritual joy that comes from having truly experienced mature
motherhood; comfort and sustain our elderly mothers: and generously
favor those of our mothers whom You have already called to Your
heavenly abode by abundantly rewarding them. Kindle within our
hearts that same burning love and faithful devotion that Your Only-
Begotten Son, Our Lord, God, and Savior, Jesus Christ showed
toward His most holy mother, the Most Pure Virgin Mary. We pray to
You, O heavenly Father, on this day as we especially pay tribute to all
of our mothers, to accept our prayers and to promptly hear us and
show all of them Your mercy.
