UPDATE-CAPITAL CAMPAIGN:

The NEW total collected is $141,363.90 for the Capital campaign. We continue to work towards our goal of $200,000. Thank you for your continued generosity and support to our church.

SANCTUARY CANDLE REQUEST:

The sanctuary candle request sheet for 2025 is on the back table in the church. Cost remains $10 per candle. Please call Paula @ (330) 799-5983 for ALL requests. Money can be deposited in the weekend collection.  

LITURGICAL REQUESTS:

PILGRIMAGE:

Sisters of the Order of St. Basil 91th Annual Pilgrimage, 500 West Main Street, in Uniontown will be held over Labor Day weekend. Seeker of the Lost is this year’s Pilgrimage.

CHURCH PICNIC:

ALL parishioners are invited to Infant Jesus of Prague annual church picnic on THIS Wednesday, July 30th @ 5:30 in the church pavilion. Meats, condiments and beverages will be provided. Please bring you favorite side dish or dessert. There is a sign-up sheet on the back table. We hope to see everyone there!!!

CELEBRATION OF MARRIAGE:

The Archdiocese of Pittsburgh will again honor couples who are celebrating significant year anniversaries of their marriage-10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 or additional years that are multiples of five during 2025. The celebration will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at St. Elias Church. Please call Paula @ (330)799-5983 by NEXT SUNDAY, August 3rd to sign up. If you are unable to attend, certificates will still be mailed.

BASILICA & NATIONAL SHRINE OF OUR LADY OF LEBANON:

The Annual Pilgrimage at Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 N Lipkey Road in North Jackson will be held August 13-15th. On Thursday, August 14th @ 7:00 pm. Archbishop William Skurla will have liturgy.

PARISHIONER NEWS:

Our long-time, faithful parishioner Joseph Blasko passed away on July 23rd. His calling hours will be Tuesday, July 29th at Wasko Funeral Home from 9:00 am-10:30 am followed by a Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas @ 11:00 am. Our deepest sympathy and prayers to Joseph’s family and friends. Blessed repose to his servant Joseph.

SANCTUARY CANDLES:

Sanctuary candles will be lit for the entire week. For the week of July 27-August 2, 2025, the right sanctuary candle is for the special intentions of Myron Terlecky. The left sanctuary candle is for the health & well-being of Jill Lee from Rose Bonamase.

Reveal Mercy, Peace and Love

Some of Jesus’s physical healing, such as the blind men, was significantly dramatic, but He usually kept it quiet. While we freely share that Jesus is a part of our life, keeping the details of the why, how, and when to yourself may be appropriate. We should be like Jesus, going to a private “place” to pray, fast, or suffer in secret. There is flexibility to the mystery of quiet.  For instance, if you are in a prayer group that you trust, they may be able to help distinguish what can be shared and how. Spiritual giants such as John of the Cross and Saint Theresa of Avila had such support systems and were given the advice they needed to do so. There are considerable benefits to resisting the urge to explain extraordinary details of our encounters with Jesus. When we do, we focus firmly on humility, obedience, faith, and dependence. This allows us to focus on our combined humanity and divinity to be present to reveal mercy, peace, and love.
